Lately I have been interested in street photography. I never take the time to shoot photos of people, it’s always harder than I expect. Penguins couldn’t care less if you point a camera at them, but people are very aware when a stranger on the street is pointing his lens in their direction. I hung around downtown Juneau for a few hours and found it difficult to be inspired. Mostly because I am too self conscious.
Recently I was asked to take some photographs at one of our local theaters at the opening of Tattoo Nation, a documentary about the rise of Tattoo culture in the U.S. The local Tattoo shop sponsored the opening. This was fun, people were more than happy to remove their clothes in the theater to show off their ink.
